How To Claim

In order to claim, ask your "flu friend" to either phone us on (01225) 752120 or click here to complete and submit a claim by email.

 

 

Information we need is as follows:

 

  • The member's name
  • Membership Number or Date of Birth and Postcode
  • If the Swine Flu sufferer is suspected of having Swine Flu (in accordance with current Government guidelines) or if they have been diagnosed by a medical practitioner
  • The first date of incapacity

 

What we will do:

 

  • We will send the member a "Swine Flu" Claim form, which will confirm the above information.
  • On this form, we will also tell the member:
    • The amount of sickness cover they have
    • The waiting time on the specific membership
  • We will process the members claim as soon as possible

 

Important Points to Note

 

  • The current Government guidelines state that you will only suffer from the current H1N1 strain Swine Flu once. Therefore, you will only be able to claim under these concessions once.
  • We will not require medical certification unless the member suffers complications.
  • Most people will recover within one week. Therefore, if the waiting period on your membership is greater than one week, it is unlikely that you will have a valid claim.
  • Arrears of contributions will affect your eligibility to claim sickness benefit.
