Meet the Staff
We pride ourselves in providing a personal service for all our members. Listed below are our contact details and if you’d like to know a bit more about us, you’ll also find a summary of the role we play in the team.
Lee Davis, Operations Manager and Head of Compliance - 01225 756791
I joined the Society in October 2004 on a temporary contract as a New Business Administrator, processing applications for both new and existing members.
Since that time, I have progressed to become Head of Compliance and Operations. This gives me incredible variety to my day – from making sure the office ticks along smoothly to ensuring the company operates within the guidelines of our regulators and developing policies and systems to drive the business forward.
I enjoy working with like-minded people who all share the same outlook – to enjoy work and to truly put the customer first in every business decision we make.
Deborah Chivers, Benefit Claims Supervisor - 01225 756789
I have worked for the Society for nearly 20 years. My role is to ensure that all claims are processed and benefit is paid promptly with the minimum of fuss enabling members to concentrate on their health rather than worrying about money to pay their bills.
Like most of the team I have had work experience in all other departments, resulting in a broad knowledge and understanding in the workings of the Society. So, if by chance a member of our team is not available, you can be sure that one of us will be able to answer your queries.
Claire Robinson, New Business Administrator - 01225 756793
My role within the Society is to provide essential administrative support to both new and existing members. I provide our Society Advisers with essential membership data which they use to make sure our valuable members are adequately provided for in the event of sickness or an accident.
Lyn Close, Member Services Administrator - 01225 756785
My role within the Society is to deal with memberships, withdrawals, closures and setting up direct debits. I also have responsibility for making sure monthly contributions are collected and keeping members informed of any situations that may arise in connection with payment collections.
Sarah Barrell, Finance Controller - 01225 756792
I joined the Society in 2004. At this time I was able to assist with administration of both new business applications and regular benefit claims, which gave me a good overview of the Society. In June 2005, I had the opportunity to move to the accounts department where I now oversee a large proportion of the Society’s accounting transactions in my role as Finance Controller. I also provide the Board of Management with accurate and relevant data, to help them with the key financial decisions they make for the benefit of our members.
Alan Godfrey, Senior Society Adviser
I am based in Trowbridge and have been employed by the Society since 1970, though some people seem to think I’ve been around since the Society started! My current role is to provide service to existing members and give advice and support to those wanting to start new plans. It’s rewarding to know that most of the new plans come from referrals we receive from happy existing members.
Mike Lees, Society Adviser
I joined the Society in late 2012 so could be referred to as the ‘new boy’ when compared to Alan though the reality is I have been working in the industry for 50 years! I am meeting existing members to help them review their current requirements and I am also actively seeking new members to join the Society.
Ed Smith, IT Services Manager - 01225 756790
My job is to ensure that the Society’s technology works day in, day out and that we are using the best IT solutions to meet our members needs. I am also responsible for developing the systems we use so that the team can work faster and smarter to get their jobs done.
